Have you had enough of the snow? Are you ready to usher in spring and tell Old Man Winter to hit the road? We all get to that point near the end of winter where we can sense warmer weather on the horizon. Yeager Design & Interiors would like to show you some new ways to bring your tablescapes to life and put pops of color into your décor to impress any guest and drive the winter doldrums far, far away.

Easter is early this year, so don’t miss out on the chance to gather the latest, greatest and most adorable accents for your table. We always talk about the art of layering in design, and the same principles apply here.

This year try starting your table with a base layer of chargers. We’ve chosen these beautiful linen scalloped chargers that create an elegant and simple jumping off point.

From here we’ve placed a decorative plate that shows a little more design detail. You may even want to try a collection of plates with your family’s monogram for a little personalization.

Add in a colorful napkin and artfully pull it through a decorative napkin ring for style. We’ve picked a fresh hydrangea ring that adds a soft touch while helping pull together our theme of flowers, bunnies and all things spring.

Hydrangeas, bunnies and all things spring combine to create an adorable Easter table for you and your guests to enjoy

The centerpiece is often the area where you can be most creative with your tablescape. The long white woven basket is the perfect vessel to hold all of your Easter goodies and accents. We love filling the base of the basket with Spanish moss, we’ve chosen gray for a little change up, but you can always use green too.

From there fill your basket with sweet little décor items like these assorted carrots that say “Happy,” sparkly Easter eggs in various shades of pastels and even favors for your guests. We are obsessed with these miniature salt and pepper shaker sets from MudPie that are the perfect way to thank your dinner attendees for choosing your home and your family to celebrate the holiday with.

White and green hydrangeas and baby white tulips peeking out of hydrangea-themed ceramics make exemplary finishing touches for this Easter table of divine design.

If you find your table a little more low key, take your cues from our second example. This tablescape is clean and simple with shades of gray and white, with small pops of color. White ceramic plates are layered with contemporary designed bowls that add interest and elements of fun design.

White folded napkins with small polka dots of color bring in a sweet touch of spring and lead your gaze to the eye-catching centerpiece. We’ve chosen a unique turquoise glass bottle set that can be used as bud vases for tulips, and also doubles as a candelabra when the flowers are switched out with tea lights.

A few great faux florals like these tulips can beautifully pair with pastel polka dot napkins

Be sure to bring in spring in other areas of your home as well. Consider placing precious linen hand towels with hand-stitched Easter rabbits or hydrangeas near your sinks for guests to wipe their hands on (or maybe just admire because these are almost too pretty for use).

Also, using a hand soap and lotion set with a unique scent can be a memorable touch to keep near your sinks. Try switching out what usually fills your woven baskets with florets of colorful cabbage to really shock your visitors with your design skills. Placing soft green moss balls and teeny potted ferns on your accent tables and bookshelves is just another way to bring in the green freshness of spring.

Inserting fresh greenery in pots or heads of cabbage into your arrangements can be a pleasant surprise for your guests

Our last piece of advice is just to have fun. A trend we have seen over our past couple of trips to market is to incorporate frames, serving dishes, platters and accessories that are centered around words. Serving your guests chips and dip on a platter that says “Chip Dip Hooray!,” or using serving utensils that are engraved with “You look radishing” can be a cute way to throw in a “punny” décor item.

A few serving pieces with cute sayings are a great way to add fun in to your tablescape

Just be sure to not overdo it and mix it up with other non-verbal accessories. Even if it seems that winter is holding on a little too long and strong, you can wipe those dreary feelings away by bringing spring to life and giving your tables and accent décor just the right touches of color and design.

Remember, most importantly, these simple steps and you can’t possibly go wrong:

•  Plan ahead for events and guests

•  Bring in real-looking faux florals for a natural and impressive touch

•  Don’t be afraid to go with a theme

•  Pair pops of color with neutral bases for a polished look

•  Don’t be afraid to ask a designer for help (of course).
