Many of you have probably been enjoying the sporadic warm days we’ve had recently and find yourself wishing spring had already sprung. How could you not when you have an 80-degree day in the middle of February?

Perhaps you have said goodbye to all your Christmas supplies and feel your home looks bare to the bone. Do you feel the need to bring out cheerful spring decor but are afraid because we are technically still in winter?

Yeager Design & Interiors is right there with you. We decided to have a fling with spring even if it still may snow, because why not? We would like to inspire you to shake things up a bit and get ready to enjoy spring and warm weather with some fresh new tips.

Let’s talk about color. How much is too much? And where should you put it?

Take for example, the mantle and fireplace area of your home. Try swapping out your regular art or mirror you have used for years with a bright and colorful canvas. We’ve chosen an abstract lined piece in a bold color palette and pops of gold.

Swap out a traditional mirror for a bright and colorful canvas art piece and accessorize with complementary vases, urns and faux florals

The fireplace is actually an heirloom piece passed down through three generations in my family in its original finish. To accent this vintage look, we’ve finished it with gorgeous ceramic urns and vases in hues from the art to tie it all together.

Other areas we’ve livened up are our kitchen island and dining tables, keeping in mind these are showroom display, you can easily pick and choose from these sweet pieces of decor to create your own spring/Easter tablescape.

We center our Easter Bunny decor around interesting vases and baskets in soft hues to show off the greenery, burlap carrots and sparkly eggs

Our worn-wood kitchen island, with its galvanized metal top, makes for an interesting base to build your Easter bunny setting. Using interesting pieces like our adorable white wicker basket filled with loose green moss, burlap carrots and sparkly eggs is an easy way to create a unique centerpiece.

Likewise, we’ve decked out our Willow Creek table with pink and green hydrangeas set against whiteware dishes and wooden bowls. Even if your everyday decor doesn’t necessarily have pinks and greens in it, feel free to incorporate these hues to set the spring tone. Even place cards can be whimsical and fun with these perfect pastel glitter eggs.

If more of a subtle table setting is your spring style, check out our long farm table that sets an earthy tone with lemon branches, clear glassware and gold serving pieces. Green and yellow are classic spring colors that can flow easily in almost any decor setting.

In your main living areas, trade in darker rugs and plain pillows for a boost of color like our monochromatic blues setting. Pops of color in your lamps, pillows and rug can make for a total facelift in your current design without breaking the bank.

We’ve used our Joanna Gaines Magnolia Home flat-weave cobalt blue and white rug paired with a sleek leather sofa and vintage hues of blue, mixed with metallic accents. This has been an absolute showroom favorite, not to mention show stopper.

Maybe you love spring but tend to be more subtle in your decor choices. Earthy tones with lemon branches, clear glassware in vases and serving pieces, and touches of greenery and gold make this table classically spring

For a super easy and inexpensive color change, grab a fun throw rug and place it near your front door or even in front of your kitchen sink. We are carrying all of Joanna’s Fixer Upper flat weaves in a 2-foot-by-3-foot size. They are perfect for heavy traffic areas and will stand abuse due to being double sided. They are easily swept clean or can even be taken outside and shaken.

We are also loving our flat weaves with “the best is yet to come” printed on them. Our favorite is the cobalt and white option, which is only $11 and not only brings in color, but also creates a conversation piece in any space.

Looking for an easy and inexpensive way to bring some color in to your entry or kitchen? These spaces are generally limited for places to introduce color, but what better way than a cute flatweave rug?

However you decide to have your fling with spring this year, remember to love what you buy and you’ll love it forever, as my mother always told me. Whether your home is sophisticated and sleek or full of whimsy and wonder, there is something out there for everyone.

Enjoy each one of the rooms and spaces in your home and make each season special for the special people in your life.
